Are you integrating your insights, or rushing past them?

I’m beginning to touch down again after two beautiful days of Practical Intuition at Dalkeith Country Park, feeling truly grateful, and still letting the waves of it all move through me - the healing, the aha moments, the clarity that came and the questions that remain.

Last week, I wrote about preparation, how to get ready for an experience that invites change. Today, I want to talk about what comes after: integration.

Over the years, I’ve sat in some extraordinary spaces - ceremonies, courses, meditations, breathwork events, sound baths, healing circles - each one an opening to something profound. In those moments, the medicine lands. But often, it’s only after the experience, in quiet, ordinary reflection, that the wisdom begins to root.

Integration is where meaning unfolds.

A Few Ways to Support Your Integration

These are ideal for any time after your course, spiritual event, or anything that is high energy, with the potential to make waves -

1. Make space.
Block off time in the day(s) following your event. This isn’t indulgence, it’s intelligence. Your body and mind need rest and recalibration. Jumping straight back into “normal life” can be jarring, and the temptation to catch up, to get productive, is real. But give yourself permission to land first, let stillness do its work.

2. Reflect creatively.
Get out your paper and pen, paint, voice recorder, whatever helps you process. I find that writing after the fact deepens my understanding. Like dreams, these experiences often reveal their meaning only when we linger with them.
Ask: What did I see? What did I feel? What does it mean for how I live now?
This is how insights crystallize, when we give them a voice, an image, a place to live in the world.

3. Return to your practices.
Get into your meditation practice, nature walks, dancing, pulling cards, sound baths, healing work. Whatever nourishes your energy system, stay connected. These rituals act as anchors, and they remind your nervous system that it has space to expand, to evolve.

4. Be gentle with the “afterglow.”
The "high" of a powerful event doesn't last forever, and that’s okay (it isn't meant to!). The point isn’t to cling to the peak, but to integrate the altitude into your daily rhythm. When you notice yourself dipping, choose something that reconnects you: Revisit the music that moved you. Sit in meditation and meet what’s arising. Step outside and touch the earth. The goal isn’t to get back to the high, but to find your harmony again.

The Heart of Integration

For me, integration really comes down to one question:
How do I bring what I’ve seen, felt, and learned into how I live every day?

If it’s not embodied, if it’s not expressed in real life, the transformation remains a concept. Integration is the act of living your insight. It’s how vision becomes embodiment.

A few prompts to meditate on:

  • In the past, how have I allowed new wisdom, healing, or awareness to integrate into my mind, body, way of living?

  • If I've been tempted to skip the integration, what have I been avoiding? What changes have I resisted or run away from?

  • Why have I felt the need to rush back into the hustle and pressure of life? What would help me to set aside space and time to reflect and receive?

  • Which techniques or practices have worked well for me in the past? Can I continue to use them and/or explore more?

The depth of your transformation is shaped in the after. Reflection, rest, and gentleness aren’t passive, they’re sacred actions. Integration turns fleeting magic into sustained grace.

Take the time, let the learning land, allow the change to become a part of you.

In the meantime, I'm sending blessings for graceful integration. May you have the space to reflect, receive, and rise anew.

- Jennifer

P.S. If you weren't able to join us for Practical Intuition this past weekend, you're in luck! I'm currently confirming plans now to offer the event, both online and in-person, next year! Details will be shared very soon.
