Lately, I've been thinking a lot about the "pathless path."
The idea is this: there are many paths available to us, paths created by society, hierarchies, and cultural structures. These tend to be well-worn, familiar, and often comforting.
But the known is shifting now, and swiftly. We can't necessarily trust what has worked before to work in the same way again. Much of the world feels chaotic, ungrounded, and unpredictable, and those of us who cling to the familiar are finding ourselves swept away.
This is where we are invited to develop a few skills, virtues, ways of being.
In a world where circumstances can turn on a dime, we're invited to hold things loosely. Whatever we cling to may feel ripped away - though in truth, we are simply being asked to evolve beyond it. This requires a deeper trust in ourselves, a willingness to lean into our greater gifts, and a mindset that is agile and aware.
For me, this is where Intuition steps in.
Our unconscious mind often defaults to what it has experienced in the past. But we are creating a future that looks very different from the last century, or even the last decade. Following a mind fixed on the past will keep you on a path that only leads backwards.
Learning to listen, feel, see, and know through our intuitive senses is what provides the awareness needed to navigate forward, into territory that hasn't yet been cleared or shown. Your intuitive mind is more creative, more able to pivot, more capable of finding graceful solutions. It helps you take the next step when the full path isn't visible. Following your intuition brings you back to your centre, into alignment, so that instead of flailing, you begin to witness from the depths of your own wisdom.
In many spiritual traditions, it is said that when you step into your truly unique path, the path itself disappears. It is yours to create, to discern, to navigate. I believe the world right now is teaching us to loosen our grip on a reality that is changing - so that we can participate in creating a new one.
Take a moment to feel your body and mind softening around the things you are most fixed upon. You don't need to throw them away, simply allow them space to breathe. In that spaciousness, evolution becomes possible, and your intuition has room to come through more clearly, more steadily, more usefully.
The mystics have always understood this. So do great leaders. My hope is that we all find our way to losing our way - to relinquishing the need to know, and moving into a deeper understanding of ourselves and what we truly desire to live and create.
Over the coming days, I invite you to sit with these questions:
If I followed my intuition instead of my fearful mind, what could begin to evolve in my life?
When have I followed my intuition in the past, and it made things easier, better, more interesting, healthier, or more aligned?
If I stopped clinging to an identity, a way of thinking or being, or an outdated goal, what could I create space for instead?
What would it feel like to simply play with the idea of a pathless path, and become more comfortable leaning into trust?
The pathless path will not feel easy at first. But I believe that as you align, you begin to live in a state of flow, and flow becomes the easy way. More grace, more synchronicity, more curiosity, more fun.
Sending each of you blessings for a greater capacity to trust, surrender, and flow.
- Jennifer
P.S. Our weekend of Practical Intuition is designed to support exactly this - understanding your intuitive senses, learning the language of how you receive and process information, and discerning the difference between fear and inner wisdom. If this calls to you as a leader, healer, parent, or conscious being, you are welcome to join us, and bring a friend. Early booking ends this Saturday with the Taurus New Moon.
